On the afternoon of April 15, Mr. Xiaochun Lu, the chief of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization paid a visit to the Biotecan Pharmaceuticals Company to conduct an intensive investigation of its contribution to the fight against novel coronavirus epidemic, enterprise requirements and development plan, accompanied by Xuchen Li, director of the office, Jia Li, director of the biomedical industry department and other officers.

Dr. Jingwei Lou, the chairman of Biotecan, took the delegation over the biomedical mega data center, Biobank, Multi-omics molecular diagnostic laboratory and the AI center, and gave an account of the history of Biotecan’s innovation and entrepreneurship in the Zhangjiang High-Tech Park, contribution to the fight against epidemic, enterprise development plan and requirements to the delegation at the forum.

Biomedicine is one of the three major industries which General Secretary Xi Jinping had placed great expectations on for Shanghai, and it had already become an important pillar industry of Shanghai's strategic emerging industries. In particular, the outbreak of the novel coronavirus epidemic further promoted Shanghai to establish a world-class public health security system, and the biomedical industry will usher in an era of prosperity. The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization will give full support to the development of Biotecan, and promote the rapid development of the biomedical industry of Shanghai by supporting a number of leading enterprises like Biotecan.
